Dear Friends of Poppy's
We wanted to take this opportunity to firstly thank you all for your amazing support of Poppy's. In just under four years your continued generosity has helped us to rescue, rehabilitate and re home 500 cats & kittens most in need which is quite incredible for a small home run rescue.
We have always said that we will never run Poppy's half baked and it must be the best with the best standards of care and unfortunately at this time due to some extremely difficult personal circumstances we are unable to uphold our high standards and dedicate enough time to fulfil our commitment to the cats.
We have therefore made the heart breaking decision to close Poppy's for the foreseeable future as we are not able to dedicate the time and care needed to provide the standard of care that we pride ourselves on.
We are immensely proud of what we have achieved and so humbled and grateful to everyone who has supported us through the years. We wanted to make our incredible supporters aware of our situation and thank each of you for allowing us to follow our dream and believing in everything that Poppy’s stands for.
We will still be helping animals through our daily work and would like to utilise any leftover funds from Poppy's after vets bills etc to make a benevolent fund (which we have had approval from our trustees for) to help animals in need of rehabilitation that their owners may not be able to afford so we keep the memory of Poppy (our beloved puppy) alive in everything we do and continue the ethos of poppy's that every life matters.
We as a rescue will still honour all of the beautiful former guests and their adoption contracts and of course will still prove rescue back up where needed for our Poppy family.
This has been an incredibly hard and heart breaking decision for us but we would like to thank all of our adopters, donors, volunteers and everyone who has shared, cared and supported us from day one and beyond. We have met some amazing people and made some incredible friends from this so it is with a heavy heart that we must finish Poppy’s in its current format but we will still continue to assist those animals most in need through our daily work.
Thank you as always from all of us xx
